The Bakuba throw is inspired by the traditional weaving patterns woven in the Congo by the people of the Kuba Kingdom. Historically Kuba cloth was woven with palm leaves by men for ceremonial rituals. The off beat, repetitive, staggered and suspended geometric patterns of the kuba cloth have been compared to the traditional music of the region. Here Mungo have woven the Bakuba throw from pure cotton grown in Swaziland. Designed, woven and made in South Africa.
